annual budget

What size of annual budget would people think appropriate for a small garden? I've tried to grow on many of the plants that were left behind by the previous owners but want to buy annuals for pots and a bit of colour. It'd be nice to replace a few larger plants too.

Gosh.. gardens are greedy! I spend way too much but you can save by looking for bargains. B&Q for example sell annuals more cheaply than the garden centres, and have amazing bargains in their sale section. Wilko are good for cheap garden supplies.
Sorry not to give an answer; I don’t think there is a figure!

I've never set a budget but in the last year I've spent about £20 in veg seeds and another £10 on bulbs.

I tend to grow shrubs from cuttings and I make my own compost but if you don't, I guess £12 per decent sized shrub, £50 on compost, maybe £100 on pots & tools per year.

For a small garden perhaps £250? Excluding furniture.
