Can I save these Nicotiana seedlings?

DS ‘helpfully’ planted these for me - instructions were to scatter seeds 5 cm apart...

They are about 1.5 cm tall and completely crushed together, poor things.

Shall I wait until they’re a bit more sturdy before I repot them?

It seems unlikely that you’ll actually want that many LOL, so I’d carefully pull some out now to give them more space.

But that feels so cruel and I feel guilty when they've grown so well for me...

Yes, I know it's ridiculous.

Yes, I will be thinning them.

Sometimes I’ve done this, easily done with very small seeds. Looking at a similar tray of Auricula. I wait until some have at least another pair of leaves, so the seedlings are stronger and either thin out in the tray or repot into small pots.

They've just got their seed leaves -their cotyledons - wait till they've got their first pair of true leaves. If you transplant any, hold them by their leaves, not by their stem - the stem is still fragile and likely to snap.
