Primrose care

DH surprised me with lovely hanging baskets & window boxes yesterday. They are filled with gorgeous primroses.
How do I care for these?
Will they last until summer?
Any advice greatly appreciated!

Remove the spent flowers and make sure they are watered. They should keep flowering until late spring. Then you can plant them into the garden, in a sheltered place. Next spring they should start flowering again.

Definitely plant them out in the garden (and you can dig them up again next spring to put back in the planters if you want). I’d choose a spot that gets some shade - full-on summer sun can be a bit much for them

if they are big enough, before planting them out you can split them to make more plants, you can either put the new plants into pots to give them a better chance of growing up, or straight into the soil.

They need plenty of water. Once it gets hotter from April or May you should move them into the shade and keep them well watered throughout the summer. That way you'll stand a good chance of keeping them going until nect spring and beyond.
