Which tall plants for outside front door?

Hi, I'm looking to get some tall(ish) potted plants to put outside my front door, main reason is to deter delivery drivers etc from jumping over a wall which separates me from my neighbour (we are in a terrace and their front door is right next to ours with the wall separating us).
The roughcasting from the wall fell off during a storm but it was weak before that, likely not helped by delivery people using it as a shortcut. We are getting the roughcasting replaced soon. The wall is about 80cm high and front of house is south facing, though plants might not be fully in sun all day due to the wall. Can anyone give any suggestions for ideal plants? Thanks

I’d get a Berberis, as they are prickly! They are easily pruned to keep them the size you want. There are several varieties with green through to red leaves, they have little flowers, but are grown for the pretty berries.

I delivered a lot of leaflets over the summer for one of the local community groups. I grew to love those people who left the way clear between adjacent front doors, and hated with a passion who placed obstacles so you had to walk 30 yards back to the street and 30 yards back again. On even a short delivery round of a couple of hundred houses, it made a big difference.
