Plants for shade

Hello, after some advice please. We have to have two large pots in a shaded area, they get sun for maybe an hour a day in the height of summer. The pots are so my small children don’t fall off a step!
Any ideas on good plants? I did have a hydrangea which had green leaves but didn’t flower. Ideally I would like something evergreen. Thanks in advance

Fatsia Japonica, is a large leafed evergreen, might survive with such low light. Maybe look at some large ferns, which wouldn’t mind the low light level, but would die back in winter.

Maybe some evergreen ferns?

Azaleas and camelias don’t mind shade. They might not flower amazingly with that much shade, but you’ll have the nice evergreen foliage at least. Just make sure you use ericaceous compost.

Vibernum Tinus. Thrives in shade, has evergreen foliage and little white flowers. It becomes massive but you can keep it clipped to whatever height you want.

Lots to look at here.
