Sweetpeas what do I do now?

I accidentally bought some pots of sweet pea plants. They’re about 6” high at the moment. What do I do now?
I love sweet peas & never have much luck with them.
Can I plant them out just now or is it too early, can I put them in pots? How big does the pot need to be?
Do I need to take off the pair of leaves at the top?

Carefully tease them apart and put them in a bigger pot with stick supports to climb up. I'd put maybe 6 or 8 plants in a 12/14" diameter pot. I don't take the top leaves out, but when they're bigger take out some of the side shoots to encourage more flowers (same as with tomatoes).

Oh, and I wouldn't plant them out just yet - usually April or even May, unless you've got a very, very sheltered spot.

I'd put some sticks in that pot for them to climb up, Yes to pinching out the top bud. I wouldn't put them outside yet. I can see they're on a windowsill - they need to be somewhere cool. Mine are in an unheated greenhouse at the moment. If you haven't got a greenhouse or unheated conservatory, find the coolest east or south facing window in your house, and you'll have to harden them off before putting them out.

Of course, if you're in the south of the country you my be OK to put them out straight away - anyone?

Hah no don't put them out yet! Still plenty of frosts here in Surrey.

Scotland, it’s still chilly. That’s a south facing windowsill in an unheated room. I have some bigger pots, so it sounds as if I could just bung them from the current pots to the bigger pots, maybe spacing them out a bit?

Just measured & my bigger pots are 18cm which is only 7” so not all of them in those pots.

We have another garden ( house attached😁) in Scotland, it is May before I risk putting anything out.
When you do plant them in the sunniest part of your garden. In a very big pot, if necessary.
