I was given three lovely houseplants by someone on Freecycle and can only identify one.

Can anyone help?

I’m thinking the second one might be Nephthytis?

The first picture looks like a young Schefflera, known as umbrella plant.

Oh thanks, babdoc, I can never get the search criteria right for searching for plants, and I want to be sure I care for them properly.

Yes they are Schefflera and a Nephthytis. The Shefflera, umbrella plant is quite hardy and once established is easily looked after. If it eventually gets leggy, they can grow several metres over time, they are easily pruned. Then they sprout from the bottom. The cuttings will root in water or compost.
The Nephthryris, arrow head plant likes to climb up a moss stick as you’ve got it. They are a bit more delicate and like light but not direct sun. Water it when the top soil is just dry to touch.

@Beebumble2

That’s brilliant - thank you! The Freecycler I got them from took cuttings last spring and these are the results (there is a yucca too!) so it’s great to have your advice about how to look after them Smile
