Help what's happened to my Euonymus

I have two small ones I planted a few years ago. One is Emerald and Gold and the other I think is Silver Queen.

I live in the West coast of Scotland. Weather's not been great. But I'm very sure The plants didn't do this last year. They look almost dead. Are they semi- evergreen? Do they come back from this state?

Give it a few weeks to see whether they put on any new growth, and then prune off the bits that haven't recovered. If there's no new growth, cut them low down and hope for the best.

Sometimes it isn't necessarily the cold that does them in, it can be the wind or waterlogging.

Thanks. I'll try that. That area is particularly prone to waterlogging in heavy rain. It's a nightmare. Whole garden is heavy clay soil. Every spring I have to try and improve it but very little difference so far 3 years on.
