Damaged tree - is it doomed?

Hi there

I ordered two kumquat trees online and one of them has a split down the main branch and I suspect why it does not look as healthy as the other tree. I am worried this tree may not flourish but company insisted that it was fine and refused to send replacement. Is there anything I can do to help the ‘weak’ tree please? I attach some photos. Thank you in advance.

How long have you had them, because the leaves don't look particularly healthy to me, there are a bit blotchy and yellowed.

They were only delivered yesterday.

You obviously bought them as a pair and they are not - they are never going to be identical but one of them is damaged and misshapen, and from the leaves it is plain that they are not in the peak of health.

I wouldn't be happy with that at all. How much did you pay for them out of interest?

I paid just over £90 for the two (includes delivery) so am very upset with the condition of the weak one. The company has not been helpful at all. They said they would refund if I sent it back to them at my own expense but when I looked at their reviews (should have done before ordering) there were many complaints about refunds not being processed.
