on a few of my house plants. I found a couple of bug like things too. The closest I can see online is a mealybug. but I can't find any reference to this white powdery stuff. I've thrown the three worst infected out and have washed the two very slightly effected with water and removed all the powdery stuff.
Does this sound like a mealy bug problem?
Thanks

yeah - it's mealybugs. You CAN get ladybird bugs to eat the mealybugs, but a) you can only do it in spring, and b) it didn't work for me. Get the powerful chemical spray and kill the bad htings

thanks lord venger! Is there hope if I spray those plants that are left? Is it obvious which spray to use? I'll go to Homebase and look.

Keep on washing them off when you see them. Keep the affected plants away from other plants. Check that the plant isn't stressed by over- or under-watering, wrong light-level, etc: they can't resist diseases so well when they are stressed.

(I hate mealybugs. They are evil.)
