Recommendation for climber either side of front door

I live in a beautiful old cottage with a not so beautiful modern porch on the front. I'd like to grow a climber from the flower bed underneath the windows, and perhaps trail it around them. House faces east, but the soil can be a bit Sandy and dry although I'm happy to water regularly and improve the soil if needed.

Does anyone have any suggestions for something that would look nice here?

Gardening seems a bit quiet at the moment...

How much sun does the top half of your porch get @twinklespells? The overhang from the roof might make it a bit tricky if it casts a lot of shade. It is also going to create a rain shadow so you may need to water regularly.

Do you own the land on either side of the porch or are you in a terrace? It might be easier to get something to scramble up from the side and over the porch roof and up to the windows if the top half of the porch at the front is mostly in shade.
