Too many worms?

We had a new lawn laid in Spring 2019 as part of a garden refurb. It's in pretty decent shape still, but over the last couple of months the amount of worm piles of mud has got ridiculous. I'm worried by next spring we won't have any lawn left and it will all be mud. Do I need to worry? Should I do anything?

At this time of year, worm casts are quite prolific, my lawn seems to be covered. I certainly wouldn’t worry about them, as they do such good work in aerating the lawn, so your lawn won’t disappear. However, they are a bit of a nuisance when you need to mow it - usual advice is to brush them off when they are dry, but that’s not going to happen at this time of year!
