Lawn Care

I'd appreciate some input on a new lawn.

It's not been look after well, and there are weeds around the edge and patches of moss. I've missed the last mow, but it's not too long and I can put up with that until early spring.

I plan to pull up and pick out the obvious weeds, and the rest will die over the winter until I can get them in the early growth stage next year.

Would you extricate the moss now, leaving some bare patches (maximum 30cm by 30cm in each location), or would you leave until next year when I can re-seed?

Lawn is north facing but does get limited sun. Wet, but not water logged. Not likely to be heavily used or walked on.

I'd suggest removing the weeds as you say, and maybe spiking the areas that have moss to improve drainage and top dress those areas with some sharp sand. Other than that, keep off it until the first cut in spring.

I’d get green thumb or whichever lawn franchise cover your area in to sort it.

I don’t know what they use but whatever it is works really quickly and I don’t have to listen to dh complaining about the lawn now.
