What do I do with this...newbie question

Hi, I planted these earlier this year. What do I do now with them? Cut off the flowers? Nothing as they will die anyway over winter or something else? I am new to gardening so sorry if this is a silly question.

I would just leave them be, and enjoy the colour. They will die anyway over winter, then you can tidy them up.

They are a lovely rich colour though, so next year see if you can track down a penstemon called “garnet” which is a very similar shade and taller but will come back year after year and get bigger too and which you can also take cuttings from to plant in different parts of your garden.
