Can you identify my bush?

Hi
We just bought a summerhouse in Denmark and this bush is growing with varying degrees of success on two sides of the garden. I’d love to know what it is and if there is anything I can do to make the sparse patches more bushy.
Any ideas?

Ribes uva-crispa is more usually known as gooseberry. I don't know which country calls it cat berry.

If that's right, it will have gooseberries on it in summery, and it will have long thorns.
