Can anyone identify this.
It's a large, approx 1.5m high. Outdoors. Possibly some kind of succulent? Or fir?

Euphorbia I would think.

(Sap is poisonous, handle with care - well, with gloves! - if moving or digging out.)

Ooo, you are good. Thank you.
I spotted it on a walk and it's something that might work in my small front garden. Thanks for the heads up about it being poisonous.

Sap is poisonous in the sense that if you get it on you and don't wash it off pretty quickly, it can give a photosensitive rash. I have a small patch on my leg that comes up as a non-itchy rash if I've been in the sun too long - but I am remarkably careless about covering up. It's not in the same league as giant hogweed where merely brushing against it may cause problems.

It's a close relative of the poinsettias that are sold at Christmas = they're also Euphorbia.
