My parents are giving us up to £500 to buy us a greenhouse for our wedding anniversary present. I really wanted to get a Halls Popular, but all Halls greenhouses have a 30 week delivery time Shock
Does anyone have any suggestions which other manufacturers to look for?

Have you tried local garden centres?. Ours has got a sale on now...

@GolightlyMrsGolightly sadly our local ones don't have greenhouses. The closest is about an hours drive, but I've emailed them so will see what they come back with.
I have just seen an amazing one on eBay for £500 but it's in York. It is a Rhino one which I know are good. If only we were closer.

If I were you, I would order the Halls one - 30 weeks means delivery would be approx April 2021. I don't use my greenhouse in winter.

Halls are the best - I've bought cheaper and regretted it - rattling frames and windows, etc.

Buy the base as well otherwise you need to put it on some sort of brick/cement base. Also the toughened glass.

Be wary of buying a secondhand one. I bought one from Ebay and we had to dismantle it whilst trying to mark each piece so we could reassemble it easily (a nightmare!), pay to have it transported to my home and then days of trying to fit it back together! It was not a success.

Good luck.

By the way, I just checked this website and delivery is UP TO 30 weeks. I would give them a call and see what they say.

@Frankie2008 Thank you for the link. It's one of the sites I've been looking at along with Greenhouse Stores.

This is the eBay listing and they've done all the cleaning, marking and dismantling for you. It's very popular and someone is going to get a bargain Ebay link

I have to say - that one has it all set up for you. 4 automatic vents - which are brilliant - they alone are worth about £30 each. I found them great so you don't have to keep an eye on the glasshouse getting too hot and also having to reach up to open the normal ones.

That staging is also very good and the double opening door.

The fact that the seller has good feedback, taken the time to label and clean the parts, DVD to show how to erect - all good signs.

Have you tried couriers to get an idea of what they would charge to deliver to you? Just make sure it is a reliable courier - sometimes using someone local to you is better than the big players as they will take better care when collecting and delivering.

I would message the seller and ask if they would be willing to bubble wrap the glass into small parcels, tie the frame bits together, and box up the rest. You could offer something for them doing this.

Decide on your max bid once you have the courier quote and stick to it. Don't bid until near end of auction - I know some bidders don't like it. If you bid before, you are just driving up price.

Best of luck!

It's too big for our space sadly, so won't be bidding.
I have specd up a package from the website you linked and this seems a good deal. The greenhouse is also on offer, and with my parents gift, it means not too much for us to fork out, and we get pretty much what we want. I say pretty much as I'd love a graphite grey or black frame, but the green will blend in nicely.

Ah, that's a shame. I had a Halls Magnum 10 x 8 at my last home. Absolutely loved the size as could grow lots, and the double door so I could get wheelbarrow in.

I intended to take it with me, but the buyers offered the asking price but on the basis that I left the greenhouse! Didn't need to think about it.

I now have a 6 x 8 and it's amazing how much you can still grow.

That is a good deal - good luck and happy growing.
