Anyone got any idea what happened here? This was ok before the weekend? I have had miner bees but they don't do this do they?

That's birds - they are probably going for craneflies (daddy long legs) which are coming to the surface and starting to hatch about now.

Chafer bug larvae? They eat the lawn from underneath, then the birds go after them. Have a look, you should see a few.

Since it's happened so quickly, I wonder whetehr it's a fungal disease. Seems a bit quick for birds.
