Stopping birds flying into windows

Does anyone have advice about how to do this?

I have one of those window feeders which is used by a lot of blue tits - and today I found a dead one by the window. I’m worried (though I don’t know) that it flew into the window and feel so bad about it. Would the problem be the feeder? Should I just remove it? It does get a lot of use.

As an alternative, could I somehow mark the window in some way while keeping the feeder?

If the feeder is a risk, of course I will remove it. They are beautiful little birds & very sad to see this.

You can buy window stickers of birds which are supposed to prevent bird strikes, but I’ve no idea whether they would deter birds from using your feeders.

This is just an example: www.birdspot.co.uk/bird-alert-window-stickers

I agree with maybe trying out a sticker on the window before moving the feeder. It’s possible that the bird didn’t fly into the window too so I wouldn’t feel too bad about it.

Thanks both - I’ll do that! I’ve now actually taken down the feeder but because it’s a big window & very close to the hedge where the blue tits seem to live I will put up stickers anyway.
