My LO enjoyed growing peas and tomatoes and green beans this summer, would like to continue growing a couple veggies in the winter months. Thought about getting little mini green house .

I’m not the best green fingered gardener but I am learning!
Suggestions please of some easy veggies ideas.

Many thanks Smile

Under glass, you could still grow beetroot which have nice green & purple salad leaves even if they never grow to be large round roots.

Radishes are quick but not sure a small child would like them.

You could grow some herbs - Mint, oregano, parsley, thyme, chives - and teach her how they smell.

My kids enjoy helping me sow garlic between Sept to Nov, and broad beans: both outdoors not greenhouse though. Lovely big seeds/cloves for kids to plant. They both only grow a small amount over winter but then have an early fast growing start for spring (before any other crops have got going), broad beans flower for early bees too. You could start some winter salads like mustard, mizuna, rocket, any of the oriental greens, they grow best later in the year. You could also try planting some fast growing potatoes in a container in a greenhouse, it's August planting for Christmas eating but worth a try now you may get some in January.
