Plant/weed ID please!

Could anybody tell me what this little plant is, please? Thank you.

It’s Persicaria, one of the knotweeds, I’ve been getting some in my garden recently. Best to get rid of it to stop it spreading.

It's Lady's Thumb - proper name Persicaria maculosa - and it's a weed, albeit quite a pretty one. The little black stains on the leaves are meant to look like a lady's thumb print, hence the name.
