Tomato experts - what am I doing wrong please?

By the time they are orange enough to pick, they're split like this. What have I done wrong please?

Watered them too infrequently and then overwatered when you did.

It’s usually to do with inconsistent watering and the tomatoes being left to get too dry.
We water every day and use an automatic watering system if we’re away.

I watered mine regularly @waltzingparrot but then this last week of nonstop rain has caused the current ripeners to split. I've found picking them when they just start to yellow helps. I then ripen them on a windowsill. Some still split but others are perfectly fine.
