Dahlia tubers

Hi all,

Can anyone recommend a good online seller of dahlia tubers? I would like to buy 3-4 different varieties for next year. Thompson & Morgan have a good stock but not used them before. Sarah Raven are always unavailable so can't order from them yet. Has anyone had any success with other websites?

I haven't used them myself, OP, but friends have recommended Peter Nyssen. Nothing's in stock yet though. I think you're likely to find this generally at this time of year but at least you can start making wish lists!

Thank you @HildaTablet I will start making a list :)

Sounds a bit leftfield but try Waitrose.

They do a Dahlia pack with four varieties and they come back each year looking beautiful

It's not really the time of year to buy dahlia tubers. Mine are all from Sarah Raven and really are amazing this year. I've kept them going about 4 years and have also taken cuttings.

If you wait until the right time (February/March), you will be able to see a good choice.
I usually buy a gardening magazine and look through the ads in the back pages if I'm looking for something specific but most garden centres will offer a good range of the most popular and reliable bulbs at the right time.
Worth remembering why some varieties eg. Bishop of Llandaff, are offered every year.
It's because they are beautiful and reliable.
