I have a very meh garden which we rarely use as a family because it's so, well, meh. We're thinking of having a pergola built out of the french doors in the lounge, have a table and chairs there which can be used for al fresco eating and also wfh. That area is paved by the way. Do you think I will regret having a pergola built? Is it possible that it will shade the lounge? The grassed area needs re-turfing. It doesn't get much sun because of a humongous tree right outside our back fence which apparently belongs to our property. The back of our garden backs onto the back of a garden whose owners are exceedingly loud. What hedges should I plant along the back fence to reduce the noise coming from them?
