Mealybugs - is there anything I can do?

My houseplants have mealybugs which seem to have spread to most of the plants. I've thrown two out but is there anyway of saving the others? I looked online but it's not especially positive.

You could try Bug Clear Ultra gun, it’s one of the few insecticides which list mealy bugs as being controlled. I have a very large cactus and succulent collection, and I now use this, after the Provado aerosol spray was discontinued.

Some cactus growers use meths or isopropanol, applied with a brush or cotton bud, but that might not be an option for a bad infestation.
