Found these two little guys while I was weeding the slate in the garden. I'm southeast England if that helps!

Usually brown (named after the likeness of the caterpillar to an elephant's trunk) but there is a green form. How do I know this? - by googling after the cats brought in two of the brown ones. At the moment they will be leaving their food plant (Fuchsia, willowherbs) to find a pile of dry leaves in which to pupate.

the moth is the most beautiful thing imaginable, huge, with furry body, and completely decked out in lime green and pink.
