Would you say that this is a Gertrude jekyll? You can see from my thumb the size of the blooms.

It looks rather small and the petals are not quite tight enough. Does it have a strong perfume?

It’s not like the one I have. Mine is a more even, deeper pink and bigger. The bids are also tight and gradually open to be more ruffled. Haven’t got a picture unfortunately.

It does have a decent perfume but it is so much smaller and paler than expected...

I think it could be one that just isn’t thriving for some reason.

I say this because my two took an absolute battering from an unusual amount of harsh northerlies during the spring. As a result they’re currently putting out slightly wonky, paler, small flowers like this 😤

Here’s what mine look like normally;
(Pic with multiple in has Boscobel on the right and Lady Emma Hamilton on the left 👍)

I have a GJ and some of the blooms I have now look like this. The first flush are a darker pink and really stunning but the ones I get after that are paler.

It's struggling a bit this year - I pruned a little too late I think and (perhaps relatedly) am having a lot of problems with rose mildew on the newer foliage.

Hmm thanks - this is a new purchase, I will contact David Austin to see what they say.
