Has anyone successfully moved a bumblebee nest

As much as I want to leave it be Grin we have moved a shed which now leaves our garden open fir the dog to escape and need to extend the fence. However this is where the nest is located. I only want to move it a few feet but not sure If this is something I can do. Beekeepers are only interested in honeybees.

You definitely can move it. Just make sure you do it when it's really dark.

You can move one at night once the bees are settled for the day and it is fully dark, but either less than 1 meter (so that they can find their way back to very close to home and find the new entrance) or more than 2 miles (so that they have to completely remap their flights and won't come across their old flight plans and go to the wrong home again).

They'll be gone in the next couple of months. They all die in July/ August apart from the queens and they go hibernate somewhere else

Ok thanks that’s really helpful. I was stung when I disturbed it when I found it moving debris and have had quite a reaction About 20cm across my torso so feeling a bit weary.
