Hi
There are 4 carnation plants in the pot that I planted about 6 weeks ago.
They were in death row and I got them for £1
They have grown and have buds on them but the pot is very crowded
Should I give repot each one on its own or am I better leaving them
Thanks

I would definitely give them a pot each, at least 30cms diameter. Mixture of compost and grit. They will flourish..
If they are sheltered over winter they could survive through to next summer.

Thanks Smile
I will do that, need to get a few more pots and some soil Grin
Many thanks

Wow, they're looking good - well done on a successful rescue!Grin

I would let them flower where they are, then repot after flowering.

Hi, keep them where they are for now as they're looking healthy. Report early autumn after they've flowered. You can try and report them now but if you only did it 6 weeks ago there's no need, I would deffo wait. :)

I read that as should I report these carnations, and clicked to see what horticultural crime you planned to log will 101 (been mumsnet and all).

I must be very tired, because I opened this post intrigued to find out why someone was considering reporting carnations.

Sorry for the irrelevant diversion!

I saw this and misread ' shall I report the carnations'... Thought it was another mumsnet neighbour dispute. Have nothing useful to add about the plants though, just thought it would give you a smile on a Monday morning!!

Hi
Thanks for the advice, I kind of fell down a hole
I realised that I would need a bit more space so I built a shelf, I bought 3 planks of wood and 4 concrete blocks, stained the wood put plants on it
I'm very pleased with the result Smile
And if they don't grow I will definitely be reporting them Wink
