Replacing euphorbia with a rose

I've just dug up a euphorbia so I can replace it with a rose. Do I need to leave the space for a bit or can I just replant?

I see no reason not to replant. Euphorbia and rose aren't closely related so unlikely to share much in the way of pathogens.
