Since the last rain we had, the water in our butt looks like cider or even like urine! Lovely! It was never like this before so is it from a build up of algae insidr? It has happened suddenly. Anyone else experienced this and is it something i need to get rid of?!
Thanks.

Where is the water collected from? Unless you know it's been contaminated it's probably a build-up of dust or dirt on the surfaces from which the water is running off especially if it hasn't rained for a while. I wouldn't worry - the plants won't care.

Just a build up of minerals, I doubt if will do any harm to use it. I pour all sorts of grotty rainwater that’s gathered in buckets, pots etc on the garden. No problems.

@squashyhat
@Beebumble2

Thank you both for replying.
There's nothing that could contaminate it.
It looks horrible though!

Most liquid ie. fertiliser, does look and smell yuk.
The more yuk and smelly the better it seems to be 😂

It's actually bubbly too! Looks very suspicious! But the plants should like it.
I want to make my own liquid fertiliser from comfrey leaves..very smelly though!
