Small fruit tree that gives a good crop?

I’ve got a dwarf apple that is doing well but two cherries and a pear that I get nothing really from.
Can anyone recommend a good dwarf or small fruit tree please? I’m planting them all along a new west facing fence line.

If you’re planning to grow the trees along the fence, are you thinking of growing them as cordon trees? Or stand alone?

It might be worth having a look at this website:

They offer a huge variety and I’ve found them to be really helpful in the past.

I have an espaliered Morello cherry myself, which I’ve grown against a west facing wall. It’s taken a few years to get going, but is now really productive.

I’m not sure what cordon trees are. I’ve basically got a 7m stretch of west facing fence that I don’t want to plant too densely as it’s near the children’s play area but thought I could have some pleached fruit trees along the fence line. My current fruit trees really aren’t given much fruit. I have childhood memories of eating from our plum tree until we were sick and wanted a bit of the same for my children.

We've put in a Christmas Pippin this year, fairly newly discovered and supposed to be easy and a good cropper.
