Hi .Has anyone seen an estabished Wisteria growing up the wall of a house from a pot .Is it possible I have one in a large pot because concrete surrounding my house.Thanks

Yes, you can. If you google you’ll find lots of advice and videos. Needs to be a very big pot with good compost.

Someone on my Facebook started this wisteria in the pot last year and it flowered this year! Impressive. So it can be done!

I'm awful at keeping pot plants alive. My house desperately needed some plants growing up it too, it looked very stark. It might seem extreme, but I hired a concrete breaker and DH and i created a flower bed. It looks gorgeous now. I highly recommend it!

Minimum recommended pot size is 45cm x 45cm (Royal Horticultural Society).

Thanks not sure about foundations and roots so would like to try from a pot.All the established I have seen seem to have no mulching involved just usual trim in July not even January to two buds and flower really well.Shoild I go JI 2 or 3 ,general compost just not sure thanks ?

You don’t need to worry about house foundations with wisteria. If it was a problem, houses would be falling down all over the place, including mine. It isn’t.

I would go for the biggest pot you can find, or the watering will be intense. Definitely bigger than 45cm.
