How to get rid of pond?

I’ve finally rehomed the fish we inherited on buying our house and am now draining the pond. What’s the easiest way of getting rid off all that’s left? Ideally want a flat surface to put a child’s swing/slide in the space.

No idea, I think you might need to hire machinery tbh. Just stunned they built a pond s9 close to a fence like that!

We just destroyed a similar one! Knocked down the wall with a sledge hammer. Dig out the foundations. Removed the plastic and used the wall stones to fill it in up to about 6” below the level. Next plan is some topsoil and reseed the grass but we’re waiting for autumn for that.

I was going to say a sledgehammer. Take the liner our and go at the wall and smash into pieces.

The pond looks deep enough that you can 'bury' the stone. You could remove it but you are going to have to fill in the hole with something, and if you just putting a swing on top backfilling the hole with the wall would be ideal

Remove the liner. Sledgehammer the stone wall. Chuck the rubble in the bottom of the hole, up to about 8 inches from ground level. Topsoil over the rest. Grass seed. Boom!

Don't over think it op, you're just filling in a hole!

You'll get some settling over the next couple of years, just top dress the patch with more topsoil and grass seed over time as it dips. We filled in a pond when we moved into our current house about three years ago, we are now at the 'dipped' stage but it's not massively noticeable.
