Help needed for north facing exposed container shrub

Hello, newbie/ rubbish gardener here, I have a north facing exposed porch area where I have already managed to kill off a couple of container shrubs probably through exposure / wind burn if that’s a thing? Any recommendations for hardy shrubs/ small container trees that would happily live in a container in a shady windy spot with minimal fuss? TIA for any ideas.

Photinia and euonymus spring to mind. You can get ones with lovely variegation for interest, but neither flower. Choisya will flower, and can smell quite nice.
