Asking for a friend 😉

The flower is a foxglove - the leaves don't look exactly like foxglove but the flower definitely is.

toothgenie · 02/06/2020 18:23

Yes, that's a foxglove. The plant is very lush and is just producing buds. We're not sure if it's a weed or not.

Is it broad leaved dock?

toothgenie · 02/06/2020 19:00

I thought it was dock. She could make dandelion and burdock

Not from dock, she couldn't. Dandelion and burdock is made from Burdock, an unrelated plant in the daisy family.

She couldn't even do dock pudding - it's made from bistort, which, although it's in the dock family, isn't dock.

How I have I got to my 50's thinking that???? this has made me laugh.
not even Dock pudding? I'm going to look in my Bero recipe book.

I'm going to look in my Bero recipe book. It doesn't have dock pudding Grin Not even the older editions. Do you have the same problem, of having to get a replacement every few years because the old one is falling apart, and find that they've tried to "modernise" it?

toothgenie · 04/06/2020 10:25

Yes I do, I've just replaced mine and it has printed tea and coffee stains all
over the pages.

it has printed tea and coffee stains all over the pages. What? You mean they've printed coffee stains as some sort of artistic effect? Right, that's the last Bero book I'm getting - mine will have to see me out.

Completely off thread but there you go.

That's horrible! What were they thinking of?

toothgenie · 06/06/2020 10:35

I have no idea. Best of it is I hadn't got my glasses on when I opened it and tried to rub it off.
