This has popped up in my border and I’ve not got a clue what it is.
It certainly hasn’t been planted by me and I was hoping some clever Mumsnetter might be able to identify it for me?

Would anyone know what this plant is please?

It's cuckoo pint also known as Lords and Ladies - arum maculatum.

Arum Maculatum. (Lords and Ladies. Cuckoo Pint.)
It’s poisonous I think.

Wow thankyou both for the quick replies.
Best to remove it then by the sounds of it?

I have it in my garden. It's fine. The berries are poisonous but apparently taste so vile that you'd have to be pretty determined to eat enough to do any harm.

Thankyou RiftGibbon I might leave it alone then as it’s very striking Smile

Polliated by flies, and apparently the temperature within the spathe is slightly higher in order to attract them. I've tried putting my finger in and it does feel warmer, but that might be just because I'm expecting it to. In autumn it turns into a dense spike of berries which seem to light up the shade of the undergrowth
