This is a patch of lawn in our back garden, it’s the worst patch. How would be the best way of repairing it?

I thought topsoil & grass seed? Is there anything else? Do I need to rake it? Any advice much appreciated!

It looks quite compacted and hard. I'd rake it and dampen it to loosen it up. Then add some top soil or lawn soil. Then seed. You'll need to water it a couple of times a day whilst it's hot and until it germinates. You could try Patch Magic rather than normal grass seed to speed things up.

Thank you MightyMeercat I shall give that a go, it’s just got bald from years of football! Must of been ds’s favourite goalkeeping spot!
