What is this tree?

Does anyone know what this small tree is? It's difficult to photograph clearly as it merges in with the green behind, happy to try to take more photos if it would help! It's the tallest one in the first photo.

It has little buds on which hopefully you can see. I can't remember what the flowers look like but I guess I could wait and see and that might help with my plant ID app / Google search.

Thanks!

Looks like a philadelphus or mock orange to me. Flowering soon with a luscious scent.

It’s normally grown as a shrub. If you want it lower then prune after flowering and new shoots should come lower down the trunk.

Here's mine . It usually flowers late June , early July .

Thanks everyone!

Interesting that it should be a shrub, I had wondered if it needed to be pruned since the leaves are all at the top. It's in a really shady corner though so I'll take some of the height off after flowering but I think I will leave it a bit taller as it has obviously gone up to find the sun.

I've just planted a skimmia next to it, right in the corner, as I read they like shade so hopefully that will fill in the bed lower down.

Anne, yours looks lovely, much better than my bare trunks!
