Best shoes for gardening!

What do you wear in the garden or on the allotment?
I find if I wear trainers I bring home half the soil. If I wear Mary Janes they get full of soil.
I want something wide fitting and comfortable that looks ok with skirts and trousers. I wear DM boots in colder weather but they are lined and too warm now.

I don't like wellies or crocs.
So some shoes with smooth soles would be best. I have tried searching but it doesn't seem to a part of the description.
Usually I would try TKMAXX but present circumstances prevent that

these don't look the prettiest but might suit?

I know you said you didn't like Crocs, but these Birkenstock clogs are like a Croc but 1000 times better (they have a birki insole). They are also indestructable: I've had mine for 15 years! I'm not sure why the soil doesn't go into them, but it never seems to:

Well, I find wellies easiest - just slide them off when I go inside and slip my foot in when I go outside. No stopping to sort out laces. No mud carried into the house.

I usually wear Back Door Shoes, although the soil does get in them a bit.
