Hi,
Can anyone please identify this grass which has appeared in a pot containing lavender last year. It's quite nice but seems to be taking over and is hard to dig out!
Thanks

It’s sedge grass, very prolific self seeder and can grow to be monsters.

might be Carex pendula, I can't quite make out the inflorescence

Thank you @Bluntness100 and @Manzana.. here's a hopefully better pic!

Could be Carex pendula. If so it's a sedge, not a grass (different family).

Have a look at the way the leaves are coming off the stem - do they seem to be coming off in 3 different directions? Is the stem triangular in section?

@MereDintofPandiculation.. thank you.
I've checked it following your advice and reckon you're right Smile Carex Pendula. So i wonder how it got in my pot with lavender in?!

It's a very free seeder. So the seed may have blown in or got carried in either accidentally or deliberately, or may have been in the compost.
