Best plants for a shady balcony?

I am a complete gardening novice, but I want to put some colourful flowers on our north facing balcony. I’ve done some basic research and seen that begonias and fuschias might work. Are there any other flowers/plants anyone can recommend planting?

Busy Lizzies do quite well in shade, as do hydrangeas. I have a flourishing planter of osteospermum on a North facing wall.

I'd go all tropical, lots of tropical plants grow at the bottom of the forest where it's quite dark. Try fatsia japonica, arum lilies, coleus, big ferns, hostas or even palms for a lush, jungly feel.

Begonias like shade too.
