Hi, I'm just watching a gardening programme and wondered if you can grow / maintain a yew hedge in planters or so they need to go in the ground ?

If not is there any hedge that can grow in a planter? Would need to be about 30 foot.

That's a lot of pots and maintenance. Why are you thinking of this rather than planting a hedge in the ground?

We have fence to fence artificial grass and trying to think of a way of doing it so that we don't have to dig up the fake grass and the hard core underneath.

Our garden is relatively small and we can hear every conversation next door so want to try and get some privacy and sound proofing.

I have an extremely vigorous honeysuckle japonica that completely covers a 20ft fence, and it is in a pot 15 inches across (it was there when we moved in). It's great for privacy and the bees love it.

@Pinkywoo thank you.

Is it very fast growing ?

In the summer, yes very! Other types of honeysuckle grow slower and smaller though, Japonica is considered invasive in some countries.

@Pinkywoo thank you. Really helpful.
