Ericaecious compost and box trees?.

I put some extra compost in the containers with box in them and they’ve gone very pale now.

Has the compost killed them?.

Usually I use normal compost but I couldn’t get out to buy it with lock down on.

Could you scrape it off and get normal compost now to re pot them?

When To Avoid It
Although ericaceous compost can be incredibly useful, there are times when it’s better not to use it. Any plants that prefer alkaline soil, for example, would not be suitable for use with ericaceous compost. Although ericaceous soil that’s only slightly acidic might not kill these types of plants, they won’t thrive in the same way as they would in alkaline soil.

It’s a tall planter, I’d have to take it out and do a complete compost change aren’t I?.

Bollocks.

I replaced the box in the end. There was something called Taxus that looked great but it was £40 and we needed two.

I planted them under close supervision from next doors cat so I think we did it right.
