Any idea what plant this is?

This plant is growing between a crack in between the paving in my front garden, with a stem about as thick as a pencil. Does anyone know what it is, I've gone through so many books but have no idea?

Looks like a tree mallow, but I could be wrong on that

Could also be a big weed

I think it could be both, thank you. It does look like a mallow and - how ever lovely the plant - where it's growing does make it a weed.

It's brilliant isn't it. Not always accurate but we've found it useful for identifying plants/weeds.

if it's not in the way, leave it.
or if you can, remove it with the full roots and put it somewhere else.
