We are bounded by conifer hedges, none of which are ours but we seem to spend a lot of time cutting and maintaining our side. The neighbour at the bottom has for several years been very slack at trimming their side and as a result they are now 8 foot thick but all on one side of the trunk.
As a result, the soil in the bed adjacent is very dry and if there is no rain for a few days it is just dry dust really. I'm after suggestions for plants hopefully with some colour that will thrive and grow to a little height to offset the height of the hedges, ie up,to 4-5 feet or easily trimmed.
Many thanks
