Sad looking cucumber plants

Hi. Could anyone give me some tips. I'm a novice gardener with very little gardening experience.

For a project with the kids we have grown these little cucumber plants from seed. They look very sad to me. Pale with discoloured edges. They are living in a little plastic greenhouse thing. Kept zipped up but I'm opening the door a when I get home at about 2:30ish.

I googled pictures and I thought perhaps they where getting a bit hot. But surely not. It's only April?!

Have you left them outdoors overnight? It’s still too cold in most parts of the country and we have had a couple of frosty nights recently. You need to bring them indoors at night, although it may be too late for these ones!

Oh no, really? I live in London. In the middle of terrace, so sheltered gardens. It's warm here, not frosty. Thought it would be ok 😣

Mid April is the last frost date for London. So maybe a week ago it was safe to leave plants outside. If they’ve been outside longer than that they could be frosted. Tender plants need to come indoors if the night time forecast is lower than 4 degrees Celsius.

They have only out a few days and the night temps have been well above 4. Perhaps I should open the greenhouse before I go to work in the morning. I've been opening it about 2:30 when I get back in from work. With these hot days we have been having I have noticed the heat inside when I open it up.

tbh, they look fine.
mine got sunburn...

they usually get a shock each time they are re-potted and if it's too cold or too windy. they are sensitive things until they really get going.

Thanks woodencoffeetable. That's reassuring. I will continue to keep everything crossed x
