Hello,

Just dug these up and not sure what they could be.

I thought horseradish but... seems small. They don’t smell of anything- white and juicy fibrous matter inside - I am not brave enough to taste!
Let me know if you can identify these for me please? Thank you!

They look a bit Dahlia like, did you have those in the garden?

PossiblyPFB · 16/04/2020 15:21

You know I think you might be right. Replanted! Thank you!

Yes I think it's a Dahlia tuber.

GuyFawkesDay · 16/04/2020 22:54

Yup, dahlia!

We don't have any dahlias in our garden but have tubers like this, they are irises.

Kitchendoctor · 16/04/2020 23:25

Oh, I thought it might be a pic of DanTDM or someone Grin

Thanks! It is most definitely a Dalia- forgot about it - it’s not emerged yet like the peony next to it and I lost track! Smile

I have a dahlia in a pot from last year but it looks dead, will it come back to life at some point?

You need to see if it has growth "eyes" on the tuber. Some of mine are being very slow in waking up but I know they had

I'm fairly sure dahlia tubers are edible if you don't want to replant them all.
