I have two shaped small holly bushes in pots. You could look at interesting firs, some are interesting shapes and grow slowly.

We put blueberry bushes in ours. The kids eat them on the way into the house and they look good and survive anywhere

Rosemary. It thrives on neglect and a sprig goes down a treat in a gin and tonic.

Dandylions do well in all of my tubs too. Grin
