Identify these plants please!

The variegated shrub is an evergreen, the other two young plants have just popped up.
Garden is new to us. Previous owners choices of plants were not to our taste (lots of conifers, trees far too big for the space, etc).
Thanks

1 is bamboo, 2 is possibly thyme, but out of focus so difficult to see.

Is this any better? Sorry pics aren't amazing.
Leaves are too big for thyme...
We know about the bamboo it's the plant in front of it I'm wondering about.

Wondering if 2 might be a hebe.

Foxglovesandprimroses · 13/04/2020 16:37

3 i mean

TiddleTaddleTat · 13/04/2020 16:37

I was thinking euonymus but I thought stalks were quite upright.

Ah - just thought the 2 new plants could be Norway maple saplings as there was previously large tree nearby ...
Will have to dig those out methinks.

I was going to say 1 and 2 looked like sycamore saplings coming through but could be the maple

TiddleTaddleTat · 13/04/2020 16:48

Just pulled them up - one did very much look like ash (and did have very long roots , thanks @wearywithteens) and the other probably the maple.

The euonymus is looking rather sorry for itself.

Thanks for the help with the IDs
I'm now wondering if the euonymus is inflicted by euonymus scale - if you zoom in on the pic the stem looks pretty inflicted.
Would explain why it's so small and looks half dead.
I think I might scrap it.

@TiddleTaddleTat Yes, you're right about the Norway maple - you're looking at the lone seedling in the middle of the pic, whereas everyone else is trying to id the plant in the background.

Thesuzle · 14/04/2020 10:17

Download. Plantsnap.

TiddleTaddleTat · 14/04/2020 10:31

Tried PlantSnap but couldn't ID them with it

There are loads of different varieties of euonymus - the one you have is a dwarf one.

TiddleTaddleTat · 14/04/2020 18:54

@littleeasterbonnet Thank you. Either way it's in the wrong place. Will move it into a pot and use that lovely spot for something more interesting I think...

Just spotted this too - any thoughts ?
PlantSnap is no use.
